Women use thanaka (a powder is ground from the tree thanaka) do makeup on the face, neck and limbs to cool the skin. Men who chew betel lot. You can see the betel-eat outlets at every street corner.

Myanmar is embargoed for many years for many reasons and can not developers. Most people think that the majority of goods in supermarkets are imported from Thailand but in fact over 50% of goods in supermarkets are from Vietnam. You can verify that if you walk a round of major supermarkets in the city center. The majority of people do not read Vietnamese so thought it was Thai.

U Bein Bridge

U Bein is a famous bridge on the outskirts of Mandalay. It is the oldest wooden bridge and longest on the world.

U Bein with a length of 1.2 km was made from teak wood and crossing the Taungthaman shallow lake, Mandalay. The bridge was built by U Bein people in the mid-19th century when the capital Innwa (Ava) Kingdom was moved closer to Amarapura.

Because there are no handrails and great length, would be very difficult. So you have to be very careful when going through the bridge.

The bridge has become a familiar location of the local people and the Buddhists come to see the sun set in the end of the day
